Patrick Rouse–Virtualization & Cloud Co-Facilitator (Desktop Virtualization) Enterprise Solutions Architect, Quest Software Patrick Rouse is an Enterprise Solutions Architect and a member of Quest Software’s Desktop Virtualization Product Strategy Group. He has 15 years ofd experience in IT and is a seven time recipient of Microsoft’s MVP Award for Remote Desktop Services. Rouse is a subject matter expert for Microsoft Virtualization technologies including Hyper-V and System Center Virtual Machine Manager and is certified in MDOP and System Center Configuration Manager. He also has deep expertise in T-SQL, Exchange, AD Group Policies and Windows System Hardening, Scalability, Application Compatibility and Performance Optimization. Previous to joining Quest’s Desktop Virtualization Group in 1998, Rouse led his own Citrix consultancy and was a Citrix Technology Professional Awardee. Christa Anderson Program Manager, Remote Desktop Virtualization Team, Microsoft Christa Anderson is somewhat shocked to realize that she has been working with Windows Server since 1993 and server-based computing since 1996. A Terminal Services MVP 2003-2007, she’s been a regular presenter at a number of trade shows including iForum. COMDEX, CeBIT, Pubforum, and BriForum, and is the author of hundreds of articles in Windows IT Pro Magazine and TechTarget on Terminal Services, Citrix products, VBScript, and PowerShell. After a while, she decided she’d rather fix issue than tell people how to work around them, and got into the industry, working for ISVs triCerat and visionapp before joining Microsoft in 2007. She is now a program manager on the Remote Desktop Virtualization team and thinks that building software is fun. Even though she has a day job, Anderson can’t stop writing. Kirk Munro Product Manager, Quest Software Kirk Munro is a Microsoft MVP and product manager who has worked in the IT industry for more than 14 years. He has spent the majority of that time creating and developing software solutions in the Windows Management space. At Quest, Munro works on PowerShell solutions, most notably PowerGUI Pro and PowerGUI, where he is responsible for driving the direction of the two products, as well as the PowerPacks and add-on modules that extend them. Pat Patterson Principal Developer Evangelist, Salesforce.com Pat Patterson is a principal developer evangelist for Salesforce.com. Patterson has been working on Internet security and identity management since 1997, joining Sun Microsystems in 2000 as an engineering manager in the Trustbase secure Web services team. After serving a four-year sentence in product management, he returned to engineering early in 2005, focusing first on federation and identity-enabled Web services, then on the OpenSSO project and its community. He moved to Huawei Technologies in 2009 to work on cloud storage infrastructure before joining the developer evangelism team at Salesforce.com in late 2010. Steve Riley Technical Leader, Office of the CTO, Riverbed Technology Steve Riley is Technical Leader in the Office of the CTO at Riverbed Technology, an innovator in wide-area networking and storage optimization. Riley actively works to raise awareness of the technical and business benefits of Riverbed’s solutions, particularly as they relate to accelerating the enterprise adoption of cloud computing. His specialties include information security, compliance, privacy, and policy. Jarrod Roark Director–Advanced Infrastructure, Bennett Adelson Jarrod Roark is the Advanced Infrastructure Practice Director and a Principal Consultant at Bennett Adelson. Roark has consulting, implementation, and project management experiences for Identity, Security and Active Directory Management products in environments ranging in size from 5,000 to over 100,000 users across a diverse number of organizations and industries. Brandon Shell IT General Contractor Brandon Shell has been in the IT industry since 1994. He spent his early years as a PC technician and general fix-it guy for numerous companies. In 1999, Shell started a consulting company focused on building, designing and supporting networks built around a Microsoft Windows infrastructure. As a natural segue, Shell also offered training on the solutions and products he provided. In 2000, he joined Microsoft as contractor for the Directory Services team and later joined Microsoft in 2002 as a full time rapid response engineer focusing on Directory Service support for the larger customers in the North East. In 2004, Shell left Microsoft and took a position that allowed him to build on his Active Directory experience and incorporate new technologies, such as Citrix’s XenApp and XenDesktop products, . Today, he maintains his love of all-things Active Directory but has adjusted his focus on another newer passion, PowerShell. David Smith Lead Architect for the US Online Services Community, Microsoft David Smith joined Microsoft Consulting Services in 2000, specializing in Security, Active Directory and High Availability. He served as an IT strategy advisor for both financial and private sector customers for almost 7.5 years. As a strategy advisor he contributed to numerous online e-commerce and banking solutions based upon Microsoft stack, including building an online AD with 17.6 million users. Later he served as the West Region Security Lead. Currently Smith is a member of the Americas Services Office of the CTO, where he founded the Business Productivity Online Services (BPOS) Special Interest Group (SIG) in Sept 2009. Since February 2010, he has been the lead Architect for the US Online Services Community which the SIG ultimately grew into. In this role he manages a community of almost 400 individuals focused upon BPOS and Office 365. Most of his days are spent aligning, analyzing and advising (AAA) customers who desire to move to Microsoft’s cloud based Online Services. He also spends a fair amount of time internally focused developing solution strategies and readiness materials so that others may do the same. He has 14 years of technical consulting experience in both the commercial and federal space, and holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University. |

Justin Zarb Premier Field Engineer, Microsoft Justin Zarb is a Senior Premier Field Engineer within Microsoft EMEA and a technical lead in the PFE Virtualization arena and in particular work with Application Virtualization (App-V). Zarb is widely recognized expert in the field of Application Virtualization and has helped create technical documentation, training and service offerings used inside and outside of Microsoft. He spends his time 1:1 with customers and helps them with real world implementations, best practices and depth troubleshooting when deploying Microsoft Application Virtualization. He writes an active blog on application virtualization http://blogs.technet.com/virtualworld or http://appvguy.com and also contributes to the App-V Product Team Blog http://blogs.technet.com/appv . He is a true infrastructure person that loves talking real world deployments with real world people. Zarb has worked for Microsoft since 2006 and has been in the Enterprise space for over 10 years with a background in third party virtualization solutions and infrastructure deployments. His certifications include MCTS, MCIT, MCSE (Security and Messaging), MSCA, MCP. Apart from the Technical Stuff, Zarb is passionate about playing and watching Rugby, but gains an injury regardless whether on or off the pitch. He is looking forward to beating the B3 challenge in Vegas and is an expecting father. |
