Gil Kirkpatrick – Directory & Identity Conference Facilitator Expert-in-Residence, Quest Software Gil Kirkpatrick is a well-known expert in the design and development of large-scale distributed software for enterprise networks. He is Microsoft Most Valuable Professional and has more than 27 years of software development expertise. He is a recognized authority and renowned speaker on commercial network directories, including Banyan StreetTalk, Novell eDirectory, and Microsoft Active Directory. In his previous position as Director of Engineering, Kirkpatrick was responsible for the development of directory management products for NetPro and served as the architect and lead engineer for its flagship product, DirectoryAnalyzer. Kirkpatrick joined NetPro in 1994 when the company acquired his previous employer, High Technology Systems. He is the author of Active Directory Programming, published by MacMillan USA. |

Conrad Bayer – Keynote General Manager, Identity and Access, Microsoft Conrad Bayer is the General Manager for Identity and Access with Microsoft. Most recently, Bayer was the Partner Product Unit Manager responsible for Federation Technologies. Alex Weinert – Keynote Group Program Manager for Active Directory, Microsoft Alex Weinert left the Web hosting provider he started to join Microsoft in 1995. Leveraging his enthusiasm for distributed systems, he helped build MSN 1.0, MCIS, Site Server, and MSN Communities in a variety of development roles. Sean Deuby Senior Enterprise Solutions Strategist, Advaiya, Inc. Sean Deuby, a Senior Enterprise Solutions Strategist with Advaiya, Inc., has 25 years’ experience in enterprise IT. He spent over a decade running Texas Instruments’ IBM VM systems – the first virtualized operating system – then designed, deployed, and supported TI’s first Windows NT 3.5 worldwide infrastructure. He also spent 10 years with Intel Corporation, where he was the design engineer of the core directory services team and one of the architects of Intel’s corporate Active Directory forest. Dmitri Gavrilov Senior Development Lead, Microsoft Dmitri Gavrilov is a development lead in Exchange, responsible for mailbox migration. Previously, he worked as a developer in Active Directory group. He was responsible for various code components of AD, including Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM), currently known as “AD LDS”. He was the lead for AD UI in Windows Server 2008 release. He joined Microsoft in 2000. Some exciting projects that he has participated in are AD on SQL prototype and ADAM. Prior to joining Microsoft, he worked as a software developer at Axia Multimedia Corp, Calgary, Canada. He also worked as a Computational Scientist at MACI (Multimedia Advanced Computing Infrastructure), an HPC lab at the University of Calgary, Canada. Gavrilov holds a M.Sc. in Computer Science from Moscow State University, Russia, and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Calgary, Canada. Guido Grillenmeier Global Solution Architect, HP Guido Grillenmeier is a Master Technologist within the Advanced Technology Group at Hewlett Packard. Based in Germany, he deals primarily with global Windows infrastructure deployments for large enterprise customers. His current focus is helping HP customers to make a smooth transition to 64-bit Windows and Windows Server 2008. Kevin Kampman Senior Analyst, Burton Group Kevin Kampman is a senior analyst for Burton Group Identity and Privacy Strategies. He covers identity and role management, directory services, provisioning, and electronic commerce. Prior to joining Burton Group, his duties included systems engineering, engineering management, integration and development, and project management with AT&T, Control Data Systems, Compaq/DEC, NCR, and TRW. From 1998 to 2007, Kampman managed Burton Group’s Identity and Privacy, Security and Risk Management consulting teams in their interactions with enterprise customers. With over 20 years of experience, Kampman was a past chair of the Directory Services and Collaborative Computing Work Groups at the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG), a Michigan-based consortium of over 1,500 manufacturers. This work led him to being named two-time recipient of the AIAG Outstanding Achievement Award for contributions to the industry. He also co-authored All About Network Directories, published by John Wiley and Sons. Joe Kaplan Accenture Joe Kaplan works in Accenture’s internal IT organization, building enterprise applications using the .NET Framework. He specializes in directory services programming, for which he has been recognized as a Microsoft Most Valued Professional and Active Directory Federation Services. He is the co-author of The .NET Developer’s Guide to Directory Services Programming (Addison-Wesley, 2006). An industry veteran of 15 years, he has helped build and deploy a variety of applications that support complex identity lifecyle management processes and federated identity scenarios. Dmitry Kazantsev Senior Program Manager, Schakra, Inc. Dmitry Kazantsev is a Senior Program Manager with Schakra Inc., located and based in Redmond Washington. He is responsible for the planning, designing and implementation of Directory Service and Identity Management solutions for Schakra’s Fortune 500 clients and leading educational institutions in the US and around the world. Brian Komar President, IdentIT, Inc.Brian Komar is the president of Komar Consulting Inc. in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Komar has worked in partnership with Microsoft over the past three years as a subject matter expert on network security and Windows 2000 Active Directory design. Over the past year, Komar has spent the majority of his time researching the deployment of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and the various technologies that depend on a PKI to provide authentication and encryption services. Cricket Liu Vice President, Architecture, Infloblox Cricket Liu is an authority on the Domain Name System and the co-author of all of O’Reilly & Associates’ Nutshell Handbooks on DNS, including the classic DNS and BIND. He helps guide the development of Infoblox’s product strategy and service offerings, and serves as a liaison between Infoblox and the technical community. He worked for Hewlett-Packard for nearly ten years, where he ran hp.com, one of the largest corporate domains in the world, and helped found HP’s Internet consulting business. David Lundell Identity Management Practice Director, Ensynch David Lundell, ILM MVP (3 years running), is in his 4th year speaking at TEC, has delivered multiple preconference workshops, including “Identity All Up” which covered ILM 2, CLM, AD RMS, and AD FS. He has trained people from hundreds of organizations worldwide on how to implement FIM/ILM 2, ILM 2007 and SQL Server. Antonio Navarro Partner / Chief Executive Officer, Symlabs Antonio Navarro joined Symlabs as a partner in May 2001. He now serves as president and chief executive officer. His responsibilities include setting strategic direction for the company and asserting its leadership in directory infrastructure and identity management software.Mr. Navarro brings with him extensive experience and expertise from Sun Microsystems as well as a previous role as the Internet architect of Vizzavi, the Internet portal collaboration of Vodafone and Vivendi. In his professional service experience, Mr. Navarro was actively involved in the migration, modification and setup of network architectures for portals and Internet services for telecommunications operators, Internet service providers, insurance companies and online banking services. He designed the system architecture for an Internet portal consisting of more than 800 servers, implemented an LDAP directory, designed standard rack-based network components and automatic installation processes.Mr. Navarro has a master’s degree in telecommunications from the Polytechnic University of Madrid, and completed his thesis on “Automatically Deallocated Distributed Shared Memory” at the Technical University of Denmark. |

Michel Prompt Founder and CEO, Radiant Logic Michel Prompt founded Radiant Logic in 1996 with a vision to use innovative technology to address the growing need to aggregate and integrate the disparate silos of information proliferating across the enterprise. Prior to founding Radiant Logic, Prompt served as Senior Vice President of Client/Server Technology at Knowledgeware, now known as Sterling Software. In 1986, Prompt founded Matesys SA in France, a company dedicated to providing services and database support. Prompt founded Matesys Corp. in the U.S. in 1991, becoming one of the pioneer companies in client/server technology. Prompt successfully sold the company to Knowledgeware in 1993. Prior to Matesys, Prompt was a core developer in the database group of the GCOS 7.0 Operating System for Bull Systems. Brandon Shell PowerShell MVP Brandon Shell has been in the IT industry since 1994. He spent his early years as a PC technician and general fix-it guy for numerous companies. In 1999, he started a consulting company focused on building, designing and supporting networks built around a Microsoft Windows infrastructure. He also offered training on the solutions and products he provided. In 2000, he joined Microsoft as contractor for the Directory Services team and later joined Microsoft in 2002 as a full time rapid response engineer focusing on Directory Service support for the larger customers in the North East. In 2004, Shell left Microsoft and took a position that allowed him to build on his Active Directory experience and incorporate new technologies, such as Citrix’s XenApp and XenDesktop products. Today, Shell maintains his love of all things Active Directory but has adjusted his focus on another newer passion, PowerShell. Joel Silver System Engineer, Microsoft Joel Silver is a System Engineer on the Microsoft IT Identity Management Team where he is responsible for the Microsoft IT implementation and architecture of Forefront Identity Manager. The Microsoft IT Forefront Identity Manager implementation is the primary tool that will be used to manage groups and all AD objects in the future. Dean Wells Program Manager, Microsoft Dean Wells has been working in the information technology industry since 1987. His roles and experience have been varied and include software development, training, systems security consulting and enterprise-systems design & implementation.
